I forgot to mention that our homestudy is just about done! YAY. We had our home visit two days ago and did not have any issues. Now we need to get a few forms signed by our DR and start working on dossier papers (this is the packet of documentation that goes to the country we are adopting from).
Please pray for wisdom and direction for us as we get these things done, as well as motivation to keep plugging along when there just seems to be SOOO much that needs to be done. It's almost overwhelming some days. Thanks!!
Oh and I started reading "The boy from baby house 10" yesterday. Talk about heartbreak. I am half way through it as I could not put it down. I know the story has a happy ending so I am encouraged by it. I cannot recommend this book enough if you are interested in knowing what so many of these kids face. It is not the picture of every child's journey but surely all of them share some part of it. It breaks my heart even more because I know there is a little girl living this hell right now, still waiting for a family to rescue her. I would love it if everyone could share her story and help find her family.
Meet "Kanani".. was at the same place as our "Jacob" but has been transferred to an institution and needs out ASAP. Her chances of survival there are not good.

Also weighing heavily on my heart as I read that book is "Emmit" a smart young man also running out of time. He has 11 months to find a family to adopt him or he will be unable to be adopted. The cut off is 16. He turned 15 in Jan.

If you don't have the book but want a quick glimpse into this world, here is a good post on another blog:
